Visitors to Canada Emergency Medical Insurance (VTC)

About Travelance

Welcome to Canada. We have your back if you have a medical emergency.

Are you visiting Canada as a tourist? Applying for a super visa? Here on an IEC working holiday? Waiting for your provincial health coverage to start? Our Visitors to Canada Emergency Medical Insurance Plans (VTC) help provide financial protection for unexpected medical emergencies. Available for visitors 15 days old to 85 years of age.
You choose your coverage amount and your deductible, and pay monthly if you are visiting for 90 days or more.

Travelling with family? Our Family Rate is simple: you pay two times the price of the oldest person. That covers you, your partner, and your dependent children or grandchildren, all in one policy.

Super Visa Ready: Built to meet the government's insurance requirements for the super visa, when purchased according to Canadian government requirements.

Our plans can be used as super visa insurance, if you buy them according to Canadian government requirements.

Pick one of two plans:

  • The Essential Plan is for visitors who are healthy, do not take any medication, and are looking for an affordable plan.
  • The Premier Plan is our recommended plan. It covers more. It provides upgraded benefits and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Coverage is provided for stable pre-existing conditions (some conditions apply).

Compare our two plans side by side.

Coverage under this plan is only for emergencies and does not include routine check-ups. For the definition of ’emergency’, please review the ’definitions’ section of the policy wording. Emergency medical insurance purchased for the purposes of the parent and grandparent super visa must meet IRCC requirements. This is a brief description of coverage. Please see policy wording for complete benefits, definitions, exclusions, limitations, terms and conditions.

*The family rate is designed for a single adult or couple travelling with one or more dependents. A dependent means any insured unmarried person who is dependent upon you for support, is travelling with you or who joins you during your period of coverage and is either: Under 21 years of age; Under 26 years of age, if a full time student; or Of anyone who is mentally or physically handicapped. The Family Rate is calculated at the eldest insured’s premium multiplied by two.
